This movement is gaining support from Republican lawmakers and conservative allies who believe CCP-linked land acquisitions endanger critical infrastructure. Patel’s advisor, Erica Knight, emphasized his expertise in counterterrorism, stating that Patel is uniquely qualified to address CCP infiltration.
The Trump administration is also intensifying efforts to counter China’s influence, with President Trump acknowledging concerns about Chinese-owned farmland, noting it has been an issue for years. Ric Grenell, Presidential Envoy for Special Missions, highlighted broader concerns about China’s ambitions beyond land ownership, which some see as part of a larger “silent takeover.”
