A wish list compiled by this foster child

The story of a boy from Oklahoma, shared by “Dream Catchers for Abu$ed Children,” touched many hearts.

He had endured years of abuse and neglect from his alcoholic parents. After neighbors alerted the authorities, the boy was placed in foster care. A new adoptive family was found, and in his letter to them, he shared his simple wishes:

“I want food and water, no hitting, a house with lights and water, love, no fighting, no drugs, help with school, clean clothes, no lice, a clean house, a safe bed, no killing pets, fair treatment, no drunkenness, a TV, nice shoes, my own comb, soap, a heater, a toothbrush, and a safe home.”

His story reminds us to appreciate the things we often take for granted.
