Zelenskyy breaks silence with new statement after ‘regrettable’ meeting with Donald Trump at White House

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy responded to President Trump’s decision to pause aid to Ukraine.

Following a tense meeting on February 28, Trump’s administration announced a pause on military aid, including weapons in transit, until Zelenskyy demonstrates a commitment to peace. White House officials clarified that this was not a permanent halt but a review of aid efforts.

Zelenskyy reiterated Ukraine’s dedication to peace, expressing readiness for negotiations. He emphasized that Ukrainians desire peace more than anyone and are open to a swift resolution, including prisoner releases and military truces. He also acknowledged America’s significant support, particularly Trump’s provision of Javelin missiles, and expressed hope for constructive future cooperation.

Trump, on Truth Social, criticized Zelenskyy’s approach, claiming that the Ukrainian leader is not ready for peace while America is involved, citing disrespect during their meeting.
