Sen. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) expressed frustration with the Democratic Party’s lack of a coordinated response to President Donald Trump during an interview with ABC’s Jonathan Karl.
Schiff criticized the absence of a focused reaction to Trump’s State of the Union address, highlighting that the president spoke for an hour and 40 minutes without addressing key issues like lowering costs for American families.
He also responded to Sen. John Fetterman’s critique of the Democratic response, calling it a “sad cavalcade of self-owns.” Schiff argued that the party should focus on policies to improve the economic well-being of Americans rather than allowing Trump’s actions to undermine the economy.
Some Democrats, including Bernie Sanders, also rejected a more passive approach, suggesting the party needs a bold agenda.
