Jack Smith’s January 6 case against former President Donald Trump may have been supported behind the scenes by the Biden White House, according to a new letter from Senators Ron Johnson and Chuck Grassley.
The senators claim the White House Counsel’s Office helped secure phone records of Trump and Mike Pence and handed them to Smith during the early stages of “Arctic Frost,” the January 6 investigation.
Whistleblowers allege that FBI agents and DOJ officials collaborated closely with the Biden administration. Emails suggest that former Deputy White House Counsel Jonathan Su coordinated directly with FBI officials to transfer Trump and Pence’s phones—before Trump was formally a subject of the investigation.
Johnson and Grassley are demanding full disclosure of DOJ and FBI records related to the case, citing concerns over political bias and improper coordination.
