Majority Of Americans Support Trump’s Handling Over Russia-Ukraine Conflict

A significant majority of Americans approve of President Donald Trump’s handling of the Russia-Ukraine war, according to recent CNN polling.

Trump’s approval is notably higher than that of former President Joe Biden on the same issue. CNN analyst Harry Enten pointed out that Trump has a net approval rating of +2, while Biden was 22 points underwater in 2024.

Many Americans want the war to end quickly, even if it means Russia retains the land it captured, with 50% supporting this stance. Support for Ukraine’s right to fight, even if it extends the war, stands at 48%. This shift reflects growing American preference for compromise and a quicker resolution, a trend that has increased sharply since August 2022.
