Usha Vance, wife of Vice President JD Vance, recently spoke about her role as Second Lady and public perceptions of conservative women.
In a podcast interview, she laughed off a question about fitting into right-wing stereotypes, saying, “It would be really hard for me to be blonde,” adding that appearance doesn’t matter to most in the MAGA movement.
As the first Indian American Second Lady, Usha reflected on being judged for her looks and noted her warm reception despite not coming from a wealthy or fashion-oriented background. She also shared her political journey—voting Democrat in 2014, registering as an independent in 2017, and shifting rightward after JD’s 2022 Senate run.
Usha, a former trial lawyer, emphasized her focus on raising their children and supporting her husband, describing their life as “strange” but deeply committed.
