FBI Director Kash Patel announced the bureau’s first major arrest under his leadership. On Monday, Patel shared on X that the FBI’s Virginia Homeland Security Taskforce arrested 39 individuals, including MS-13 members.
Among them was David Alejandro Orellana-Aleman, a top MS-13 leader operating in the U.S., Mexico, and Europe. Orellana, an illegal alien from El Salvador, had prior charges including extortion and terrorism. ICE and FBI officials said his arrest dealt a major blow to MS-13’s operations. He was caught driving without a license in Maryland and remains in ICE custody.
Patel also proposed a partnership with the UFC to improve FBI agents’ fitness, suggesting it during a call with field office leaders. The plan received mixed reactions, though some praised the focus on physical conditioning.
