Authorities believe a brutal double homicide committed by 17-year-old Nikita Casap in Waukesha, Wisconsin, was the first step in a plan to assassinate former President Donald Trump.
Casap allegedly killed his mother and stepfather to gain independence and resources, according to an FBI affidavit. The teen is charged with two counts of first-degree homicide and remains in custody on a $1 million bond.
Investigators found a manifesto on Casap’s phone calling for Trump’s assassination, detailing bomb-making plans and white supremacist ideologies. Evidence from a search of a vehicle included nearly $14,000, electronics, and a neo-Nazi journal.
Casap’s trial is set for May 7. The FBI is working with federal prosecutors to pursue additional charges. His plot marks a fourth known attempt or conspiracy against Trump’s life, including previous incidents in 2024 involving gunmen and an alleged Iranian missile scheme.
