House Republicans raised $36.7 million in the first quarter of the year, marking a record-breaking start as they aim to expand their majority in the 2026 midterm elections.
The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) called it the strongest off-year Q1 fundraising in its history, with $21.5 million raised in March alone.
NRCC spokesman Mike Marinella credited “unstoppable momentum and widespread support,” contrasting Republican unity with internal Democratic conflicts.
Democrats, who need a net gain of three seats to reclaim the House, raised more than Republicans in both January and February but have not yet released full quarterly totals.
The DCCC recently unveiled a 35-seat target list, while Republicans named 26 districts as priorities, including several won by Trump in 2024. GOP leaders are confident that their base—especially working-class and Latino voters—will help solidify and grow their narrow House majority.
