When Emma the pig arrived at Apricot Lane Farm in California, she was sick, weak, and heavily pregnant. Vets predicted she’d have six piglets at most—but she gave birth to 17. Only 13 survived.
Exhausted and feverish, Emma’s condition worsened after the birth, and the piglets had to be taken away. But when Chester, the farm owner, brought them back, something amazing happened—Emma began to recover.
“She was saved by her calling,” Chester said. “For Emma, that calling was to be a mother.”
