Malia and Sasha Obama: From White House to Roommates
Now that Michelle and Barack Obama are empty nesters, their daughters Malia and Sasha have grown into close, independent young women—and recently decided to live together in Los Angeles. Despite being three years apart, the sisters became best friends over time, especially after spending the pandemic under the same roof.
Michelle said she tried to play it cool when they told her about moving in together, but deep down she was thrilled. They’ve decorated their place with budget finds and are navigating adulthood side by side.
Malia, now 26, graduated from Harvard and has made a name for herself in the entertainment industry, co-writing for Prime Video’s Swarm and directing her own short film The Heart, which won international recognition.
Sasha, 23, graduated from USC with a sociology degree. Known for her vibrant personality, she’s been praised for her natural charm and strong resemblance to her mom.
Michelle and Barack remain proud of their daughters, who’ve grown into thoughtful, grounded women despite growing up in the spotlight.
