Former Vice President Mike Pence says he wants to be a “constructive force for the conservative agenda” during Trump’s second term, supporting policies he agrees with and opposing those he doesn’t.
Despite their fallout after January 6, 2021, Pence has shown a willingness to work with Trump while standing by his principles.
His political group, Advancing American Freedom, has criticized Trump’s HHS pick, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., for supporting abortion rights. Pence said many quietly encouraged him to speak out.
He continues to advocate for traditional conservative values, write op-eds, and meet with lawmakers. Though he’s forgiven Trump personally, Pence maintains their constitutional disagreements.
He remains hopeful that others in the GOP will find courage to lead on core issues like life and limited government.
