White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller sharply criticized Senator Chris Van Hollen for visiting Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a deported alleged MS-13 gang member, during a trip to El Salvador.
Miller accused the Maryland Democrat of prioritizing a suspected criminal over victims of crime in his own state.
Photos of the visit, shared by El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele, mocked Van Hollen’s concerns about alleged mistreatment of deportees. Former President Trump also slammed Van Hollen online.
Miller condemned the senator for ignoring victims like Rachel Morin and Kayla Hamilton, who were reportedly murdered by undocumented immigrants. He questioned Van Hollen’s empathy and accused him of turning a blind eye to issues like fentanyl, crime, and strained public services in Maryland.
Miller concluded by calling the senator’s actions disgraceful and appalling.
