DOJ Charges Man With Torching Tesla Dealership, GOP HQ

The Justice Department has charged Jamison R. Wagner, 40, in connection with the arson of the New Mexico Republican Party headquarters and the vandalism of a Tesla dealership in Bernalillo.

Court documents reveal Wagner allegedly set fire to two Tesla Model Y vehicles, defaced them with swastikas, and spray-painted messages like “Die Elon.” A month later, he allegedly ignited a fire at GOP headquarters, causing significant damage.

Investigators found incendiary devices, spray paint, and a stencil reading “ICE = KKK” in his home.

Federal authorities say the acts are part of a broader surge in domestic terrorism targeting Tesla and Republican sites. The FBI and ATF have launched a task force to address the attacks.

Wagner remains in custody pending a detention hearing. No plea deals are expected, officials said.
