FBI Director Kash Patel has delivered nearly 700 pages of declassified documents from the “Crossfire Hurricane” investigation to Congress, following a March 2025 executive order by former President Trump.
These documents, previously withheld by Trump’s own DOJ in 2021 and later resisted by the Biden DOJ and FBI, expose the origins of the Trump-Russia probe.
The investigation, launched in 2016 based on unverified claims involving Hillary Clinton’s campaign and the Steele dossier, was later discredited by Special Counsels Mueller and Durham. Both found no evidence of collusion.
Trump had attempted declassification in 2021, but the DOJ blocked it. The newly released binder, dated April 9, 2025, confirms the politically driven nature of the FBI’s actions and the failure to corroborate allegations central to the surveillance of Trump aide Carter Page.
