Former aides and Democrats were outraged after President Joe Biden, 82, and First Lady Jill Biden reportedly offered to reenter the spotlight to help revive the party’s image and fundraising.
Biden recently met with DNC Chairman Ken Martin, but critics say the Bidens are “delusional,” blaming their ego and poor leadership for Democrats’ collapse. Following a landslide loss and Trump’s return, many believe Biden should stay in retirement.
“Why would anyone listen to him?” a Democratic source asked. Others mocked the move as an “SNL skit.”
Frustration also stems from controversies involving Hunter and James Biden’s foreign business dealings. Critics argue the Bidens remain surrounded by ineffective advisers, failing to adapt.
One former White House aide called them “the last and worst remedy” for the party’s future.
