Russia releases statement after Donald Trump read out letter sent to him by Zelenskyy

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy recently expressed his country’s willingness to negotiate with Russia.

This statement followed a meeting with US President Trump and Vice President JD Vance, where they discussed Ukraine’s ongoing war with Russia.

The conversation became tense, with Trump criticizing Zelenskyy’s approach, stating that Ukraine lacked the strength to counter Vladimir Putin’s forces and accusing Zelenskyy of “gambling with World War III.” Trump also promised to halt military aid to Ukraine, a move Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov praised as a step toward peace.

After leaving the White House early and canceling a joint press conference with Trump, Zelenskyy sent a letter to the US President.
