FBI whistleblowers are urging new Director Kash Patel to review their cases, claiming retaliation for exposing internal misconduct during former President Joe Biden’s administration.
Empower Oversight, a watchdog group, sent a letter in March to FBI General Counsel Samuel Ramer outlining concerns about agents like Garret O’Boyle, Marcus Allen, and others who faced suspension or lost security clearances.
Marcus Allen, a staff operations specialist, was suspended without pay after questioning Director Wray’s testimony and raising political and COVID-19 concerns. Though his clearance was reinstated, the FBI allegedly failed to honor parts of his settlement, including back pay and corrected tax documents.
Empower Oversight argues the FBI exploits lengthy clearance processes to pressure employees financially, forcing many to resign. The group seeks mediation and stronger oversight to prevent future retaliation and ensure accountability in whistleblower cases.
