FBI Analyst Who Resigned Over Kash Patel Announces Congressional Run

John Sullivan, a former FBI analyst, announced his run for Congress against Rep. Michael Lawler in New York’s 17th District.

Sullivan, who served for 17 years protecting the U.S. from threats like Russia and terrorism, criticized former President Donald Trump and FBI Director Kash Patel, claiming their actions jeopardized American safety.

He resigned from the FBI in April, citing Trump’s pardons for January 6 insurrectionists as a turning point. In his campaign video, Sullivan highlighted his roles as a dad, husband, cancer survivor, and public servant.

He also called Lawler “Elon Musk’s favorite congressman.” Sullivan’s candidacy focuses on security and holding leaders accountable for threats to the country.
