Attorney General Pam Bondi criticized U.S. District Judge James Boasberg, claiming he “cannot be objective” in handling the Signal group chat case involving Trump administration officials.
Bondi referred to the judge’s appointment as a “wild coincidence” that seemed biased against Trump.
The case centers on Trump officials discussing a military strike on Houthi rebels in Yemen using the Signal app, leading to a lawsuit by American Oversight, which argues they violated the Federal Records Act.
Boasberg had previously ruled against the Trump administration in a case involving deported Venezuelan migrants. Despite the D.C. Circuit temporarily blocking Boasberg’s contempt proceedings, Bondi argued he should not oversee cases involving the Trump administration.
