Attorney General Pam Bondi criticized U.S. District Judge James Boasberg, calling him “out of control” and urging the Supreme Court to intervene.
Bondi accused Boasberg of bias in handling a lawsuit involving a Signal group chat between top Trump officials discussing a military strike in Yemen.
The chat was inadvertently leaked to the media, prompting a lawsuit over possible Federal Records Act violations. Bondi argued Boasberg’s past rulings, including one blocking deportations of Venezuelan migrants linked to gangs, show a pattern of partisanship.
Although a federal appeals court paused Boasberg’s contempt proceedings against the Trump administration, he continued pressing legal action. The Supreme Court later stepped in to temporarily halt deportations under the Alien Enemies Act.
Critics argue Boasberg is exceeding his authority, while his defenders say he’s upholding judicial oversight.
