CNN’s chief data analyst Harry Enten warned of a potential “revolt” within the Democratic Party, citing dramatic drops in trust and approval ratings.
A new Gallup poll shows only 39% of Democrats trust congressional leaders on the economy—down from 80% in April 2024. Enten called this the lowest ever recorded, signaling deep dissatisfaction.
He also highlighted a sharp decline in Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer’s favorability among New York Democrats, now at 52%, down from 73%. Enten suggested this could spark a primary challenge, possibly from Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
Meanwhile, former Clinton pollster Mark Penn said the party is “falling off a cliff,” with new polling showing Trump outperforming Biden on key issues. He described the Democratic Party’s favorability as at a record low and lacking strong leadership.
