Donald Trump slammed for showing ‘no respect’ with act at Pope Francis’ funeral

Donald Trump drew criticism for his appearance at Pope Francis’ funeral after wearing a bright blue suit while nearly every other attendee wore traditional black.

As world leaders gathered in Vatican City on April 26 to honor the late pontiff, Trump stood out in a sea of dark suits—a move many online viewed as disrespectful.

Social media users slammed the U.S. President for lacking decorum, accusing him of trying to draw attention. Some pointed out the irony, noting Trump had previously criticized Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy for not dressing formally.

Despite the controversy, Trump and Melania paused solemnly at the Pope’s coffin to pay their respects. Pope Francis’ understated funeral broke with tradition, including his burial in a plain wooden coffin and a public procession through Rome attended by the poor and marginalized.
