Four, Including Democratic Official Arrested in Absentee Ballot Misuse Case, Judge Orders Redo of Election in Another Case

Four Connecticut Democrats were arrested for mishandling absentee ballots in the 2019 Bridgeport primary.

The accused—Wanda Geter-Pataky, Alfredo Castillo, Nilsa Heredia, and Josephine Edmonds—face charges of illegal possession and tampering with ballots.

Officials aim to send a strong message against election fraud. The case also links to a 2023 mayoral election re-run after improper ballot handling was discovered. Charges include falsifying voter info and mishandling ballots.
