Donald Trump called out for ‘ultimate disrespect’ over two acts at Pope Francis’ funeral after ‘breaking dress code’

Trump Criticized for ‘Disrespectful’ Behavior at Pope Francis’ Funeral

Donald Trump faced backlash after attending Pope Francis’ funeral in Vatican City on April 26. An estimated 400,000 mourners, including world leaders like Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, gathered to honor the late pontiff.

However, Trump stood out—not for his presence, but for his attire and behavior.

Instead of wearing traditional black, Trump opted for a bright navy-blue suit, drawing criticism online for “breaking the dress code.” Social media users slammed his appearance as “attention-seeking” and “disrespectful.”

Viewers also accused him of texting, chewing gum, and appearing to doze off during the ceremony. One user wrote, “Texting from the front row at a funeral… the ultimate disrespect.”

Adding to the criticism, Trump reportedly left the funeral early.
