Just over two weeks after President Donald Trump’s return to the White House, Democratic Rep.
Al Green of Texas initiated an impeachment campaign against him. Green introduced the articles of impeachment on the House floor, citing Trump’s announcement about the U.S. taking full ownership of the Gaza Strip. Green condemned the plan, calling it ethnic cleansing and asserting that such actions should not come from the U.S. president. This marks Green’s fourth attempt to impeach Trump, following similar efforts during his first term. Trump had been impeached twice before, in 2019 and 2021, though he was acquitted both times. Trump’s plan for Gaza aims to end the Israel-Hamas conflict and transform the region into a safe, peaceful area for residents.
