Vast Majority Of Americans Approved Of Trump’s Speech

Americans overwhelmingly approved of President Donald Trump’s speech before Congress, with 76% of viewers expressing support.

The 100-minute address, the longest in modern history, highlighted themes such as ending foreign wars and defending tariffs. The CBS News poll revealed broad approval, even among non-Republicans, indicating optimism about Trump’s early months in office.

Trump emphasized his stance on the Russia-Ukraine conflict, calling for an end to the war and advocating for a peace deal, even if it involves Ukraine ceding territory. He also defended his tariff policies, which 57% of respondents viewed as effective. Trump contrasted his leadership with former President Biden’s, calling him “the worst president in American history,” with 58% of those surveyed expressing greater satisfaction with Trump’s performance.
