President Donald Trump has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize, with Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) announcing the news on X Monday morning.
Issa praised Trump, stating, “No one deserves it more.” The nomination follows a tense meeting where Trump reportedly asked Ukrainian President Zelenskyy to leave after a heated exchange over U.S. military aid. Trump later accused Zelenskyy of disrespecting the U.S. and suggested Ukraine was leveraging American support rather than seeking peace.
Issa’s spokesperson highlighted Trump’s efforts to foster peace in the Middle East, citing his promotion of multilateral peace. Issa’s view was echoed by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who emphasized that Trump’s peace negotiations between Ukraine and Russia would be lauded if he were a Democrat, advocating for efforts to end wars through dialogue.
