Vice President JD Vance praised President Donald Trump’s new tariff plan, saying it’s the first time in 40 years the U.S. isn’t acting as the world’s “piggy bank.”
In a Fox News interview, Vance defended Trump’s tariffs, calling them “kind and reciprocal,” especially toward countries with unfair trade practices.
He argued that under Trump, inflation remained low and manufacturing grew. Vance criticized the Biden administration for rising inflation and vanishing industry, claiming Trump is reversing those trends.
He emphasized deregulation and lower energy costs, noting egg prices dropped significantly in Trump’s first months back in office. Vance acknowledged ongoing economic struggles but insisted Trump’s policies will lead to more secure jobs and lower costs by putting American interests first.
He said the administration is working fast, but recovery takes time.
