NY AG Letitia James Under Federal Investigation Over Mortgage Fraud Claims
New York Attorney General Letitia James, known for targeting Donald Trump, is now under federal investigation for alleged mortgage fraud. The DOJ, led by Attorney General Pam Bondi, launched the probe following a referral from Trump-appointed housing official William Pulte.
James is accused of falsely claiming a Virginia property as her primary residence to get better loan terms and misrepresenting a Brooklyn property’s unit count. Her lawyer dismissed the allegations as politically motivated retaliation.
James’s office insists she won’t be intimidated, calling the investigation a “weaponization” of the federal government.
