The Democratic National Committee (DNC) voted to void David Hogg’s election as vice chair, citing procedural violations from a February challenge.
Hogg, a vocal advocate for party reform, linked the decision to internal resistance against his efforts to promote new leadership. Pennsylvania Rep. Malcolm Kenyatta was also removed.
Christine Pelosi clarified the vote wasn’t about performance but procedural fairness. Hogg had recently launched a \$20 million campaign to unseat long-serving Democrats in safe blue districts, sparking tension within the party.
He clashed with strategist James Carville, who criticized the strategy as divisive. Despite the controversy, Carville later acknowledged Hogg’s commitment to the party. The DNC plans to revisit the issue in a future vote.
