Supreme Court To Hear Trump’s ‘Birthright Citizenship’ Case

The U.S. Supreme Court will hear arguments Thursday on President Trump’s executive order ending birthright citizenship.

The order, signed on Inauguration Day, limits citizenship to children with at least one U.S. citizen or permanent resident parent, challenging the 14th Amendment.

Lower courts have blocked the policy, calling it likely unconstitutional. If enacted, it could deny birthright citizenship to 255,000 babies annually.

The case marks the Court’s first review of Trump’s second-term policies and could redefine judicial authority on nationwide injunctions. A final decision is expected by July, with significant constitutional implications for immigration and citizenship law.
