Judge Strikes Down Biden-Era ‘Gender’ Employment Rule

Judge Strikes Down Biden-Era LGBTQ+ Employment Guidance

A federal judge in Texas has blocked parts of the Biden administration’s Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) guidance that extended Title VII protections to include sexual orientation and gender identity.

Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk, a Trump appointee, ruled that the EEOC’s interpretation of “sex” in Title VII is “contrary to law.” The lawsuit was brought by the conservative Heritage Foundation, which argued the guidance forced businesses to accept “radical gender ideology.”

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton praised the ruling as a win for “biological reality,” while the EEOC noted it lacks a quorum to formally rescind the guidance.

Critics say the decision rolls back protections for LGBTQ+ workers, while supporters claim it upholds legal clarity and common sense.
