Trump Responds After Supreme Court Blocks Deportation of Venezuelan Migrants

The Supreme Court ruled 7-2 against former President Donald Trump’s attempt to deport Venezuelans identified as gang members using the Alien Enemies Act.

The justices said the administration failed to provide due process, including adequate notice and resources for detainees to contest deportation.

The case was sent back to the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals. Trump criticized the decision on Truth Social, calling it dangerous and accusing the Court of allowing criminals to stay in the country.

Justices Alito and Thomas dissented. The ruling blocks the deportations for now, and related lawsuits will continue in lower courts.
