President Donald Trump used his joint address to Congress to reaffirm his goal of sending Americans to Mars.
He declared that his administration would “plant the American flag on the planet Mars and even far beyond,” a sentiment echoing his inaugural speech and referencing SpaceX’s Elon Musk.
Trump also praised Musk, who was present in the gallery, for his leadership in the new Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). He highlighted Musk’s work in identifying wasteful government spending, listing examples such as $22 billion for illegal alien housing and $45 million for diversity scholarships in Burma.
Trump urged Musk to be even more aggressive in rooting out government inefficiencies, a request Musk readily accepted on social media, reinforcing their partnership against progressive policies.
