Patel Orders 2,000 FBI Agents To Assist With Immigration Enforcement

The FBI has reportedly directed its field offices to reassign agents to immigration enforcement in coordination with ICE, according to internal memos.

This marks a strategic shift, reducing focus on white-collar and corporate crime.

Around 45% of agents could be reassigned, with a goal of deploying up to 2,000 agents for immigration operations. FBI leadership cited the need to support DOJ and DHS partners amid increased expectations.

Other federal agencies, including the IRS, USCIS, and DOJ, have also been enlisted. This move aligns with broader Trump administration efforts to tighten immigration enforcement.

Officials claim the change has already led to a significant drop in illegal border crossings and increased support for trafficking victims.
