Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey is calling on the Department of Justice (DOJ) to investigate whether former President Joe Biden’s staff exploited his cognitive decline to push far-left policies.
In a letter to DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz, Bailey argued that Biden’s executive actions, such as clemency grants for violent criminals, could be “legally void” if he did not knowingly approve them.
Bailey suggested that Biden’s mental decline, evident before he dropped out of the 2024 presidential race, may have led to his staff issuing orders without a fully capable President. He requested an investigation into which of Biden’s orders were issued by a competent President.
Biden’s clemency decisions, including pardoning family members and commutations for violent criminals, are among the actions Bailey questioned.
