Supreme Court Gives Trump Admin Major Immigration Win

The Supreme Court handed a major win to former President Donald Trump, ruling 8–1 to allow the administration to end Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for around 300,000 Venezuelan migrants.

Only Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson dissented.

The decision overruled a lower court’s injunction and backed the administration’s argument that immigration decisions are the executive branch’s domain. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem had revoked TPS in February, citing national interest.

A lower court had blocked her move, but the Supreme Court’s ruling clears the way for migrant removals. The TPS program was initially expanded under the Biden administration and Secretary Mayorkas.
