Retired U.S. Navy Admiral Found Guilty in Bribery Scheme

Retired U.S. Navy Admiral Robert Burke was convicted of bribery after a five-day trial. Burke was found guilty of conspiracy, financial misconduct, and concealing information.

 

 

 

Between 2018 and 2021, he used his position to direct a lucrative contract to a private company, Firm A, in exchange for a future job with them. He received a \$500,000 salary and 100,000 stock options from Firm A.

The contract was worth \$355,000, and Burke also falsely reported his interactions with the company. Sentencing is scheduled for August 22, 2025.

This case was investigated by the NCIS, FBI, and the DOJ.
