J6 Prosecutors Brag To Congress About Locking Up Americans For Misdemeanors

Two former DOJ prosecutors involved in charging January 6 rioters admitted to locking up Americans for mostly misdemeanors during a Senate Intelligence hearing. Mike Romano proudly cited over 1,500 charges and nearly 1,300 convictions, emphasizing accountability for the Capitol riot.

 

 

 

Sara Levine expressed heartbreak after many defendants were pardoned by President Trump in 2025, feeling her work was undone. Critics argue the prosecutions were overzealous, detaining some individuals for lengthy periods and targeting minor offenses. The FBI’s extensive investigations disrupted many lives.

Meanwhile, Republican support rises, linked to economic optimism and Trump’s policies, with inflation and the economy remaining top voter concerns ahead of the 2024 elections.
