Pro-Israel Group May Be Looking To Unseat ‘Squad’ Member Ilhan Omar: Report

A pro-Israel lobbying group, likely AIPAC, may be preparing to challenge Rep. Ilhan Omar in the 2026 midterms, according to The Intercept.

A recent poll in Omar’s district included critical statements about her positions on Israel and tested voter reactions to Ryan Winkler, a possible challenger.

While the poll didn’t name AIPAC, political strategists say it matches their usual tactics of gauging voter sentiment before committing funds. AIPAC has previously spent over $100 million targeting progressive lawmakers critical of U.S. policy on Israel.

Omar responded, saying groups like AIPAC have spent millions trying to unseat her, but emphasized that her district “has never been for sale.”
