Ramon Morales-Reyes, a 54-year-old Mexican citizen in the U.S. illegally, was arrested by ICE in Wisconsin on May 22 after allegedly threatening to assassinate former President Donald Trump.
DHS reported that Morales-Reyes sent a letter detailing his intent to shoot Trump at a rally. He is currently jailed in Dodge County, awaiting deportation. His criminal record includes felony hit-and-run and domestic abuse.
Secretary Kristi Noem warned of increasing threats to Trump, urging calmer political rhetoric. The Secret Service is also investigating related concerns, including cryptic posts by public figures.
