A judge appointed by President Obama, Amy Berman Jackson, initially reinstated Special Counsel Hampton Dellinger after President Trump fired him.
Dellinger, appointed by Biden to protect whistleblowers, was removed via a one-sentence email when Trump returned to office.
However, the D.C. Court of Appeals unanimously overturned Jackson’s ruling on March 5, allowing Trump to proceed with the firing during the appeal. The court found the administration met the requirements for a stay.
Jackson criticized the White House’s actions, saying they caused the disruption. The case is ongoing, with briefs due in April. The ruling was praised by conservatives despite liberal opposition online.
