FBI Director Kash Patel said new revelations about the agency’s role in the January 6 Capitol riot will “surprise and shock” Americans.
In an interview with Fox News, Patel previewed a report confirming whether FBI sources—not agents—were present at the Capitol.
He criticized former Director Chris Wray’s delayed acknowledgment of 26 confidential human sources on-site. Patel insisted the public deserves full transparency.
FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino added that evidence from James Comey’s tenure had recently been discovered and is being reviewed for declassification. He described it as material not processed through official channels.
Bongino warned the findings would stun the public once released. Specifics remain undisclosed for now.
