Senator John Fetterman (D-Pa.) criticized the Democratic Party’s handling of border security during President Biden’s administration, saying it allowed millions of migrants into the U.S. over four years, giving Republicans a strong campaign issue.
Speaking during a debate with Republican Dave McCormick, Fetterman called the situation “chaos” and supported investments in border security, including funding from former President Trump’s border bill. He acknowledged losing some support within his party for this stance.
Fetterman highlighted that daily migrant crossings approximate the population of Pittsburgh, emphasizing the issue as a national security concern.
