During a tense Oval Office meeting, President Trump and Vice President JD Vance clashed with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Trump told Zelensky to “be thankful” for past U.S. aid and accused him of rejecting cease-fire efforts.
Vance called Zelensky’s tone “disrespectful,” criticizing Ukraine’s handling of its military and media messaging. Zelensky defended his country’s struggles and said the U.S. would feel the war’s effects in the future.
Trump responded sharply, insisting Ukraine was in a weak position and gambling with global consequences. “You don’t have the cards,” Trump said. “With us, you start having cards.”
