Former NFL Player Jack Brewer Blames Minnesota Leadership for Deadly Shootings
Following the deadly shootings that killed Minnesota Democratic House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband, and critically injured State Senator John Hoffman and his wife, former NFL player Jack Brewer spoke out, placing blame on Democratic leadership. Brewer, who played for the Minnesota Vikings and the University of Minnesota, criticized Governor Tim Walz, calling Minnesota “the capital of chaos.” In an interview with Fox News, Brewer reflected on his time in the state, saying it was once a respectful place but has become dangerous under current leadership. He accused Walz and Attorney General Keith Ellison of failing Minnesotans and called for a “return to masculinity,” describing Walz as a “weak, emasculated leader.” Brewer warned that Democrats have become intolerant of dissent, even within their own ranks.
Former President Donald Trump also condemned the shootings, calling Walz a “grossly incompetent” governor. Although he had not yet contacted Walz, Trump said his administration intends to be actively involved in the investigation, labeling the attacks as horrific political violence. Attorney General Pam Bondi confirmed the FBI and Department of Justice are working closely with local officials, and FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino said agents are “fully engaged” on the ground. The suspect, 57-year-old Vance Boelter, was captured Sunday after a two-day manhunt. Authorities discovered “No Kings” signs in his vehicle, referencing nationwide protests held that day against Trump-era ICE policies, suggesting potential political motivation behind the attack.
