Left-wing activists are planning a revival of the “No Kings” protests across the United States during the upcoming Independence Day holiday, according to promotional material circulating on social media. A flyer shared on X (formerly Twitter) announced, “This 4th of July, we’re reclaiming America’s promise,” though numerous spelling errors have led some users to question the flyer’s authenticity and origin. Critics have already begun mocking the planned demonstrations, pointing to the failure of the original “No Kings” movement. One social media user commented, “NoKings 1.0 was a flop and a failure. Nothing changed then and nothing will change now\… The real kings are the ones trying to silence dissent while pretending to be rebels.”
Amid growing tensions, federal officials are warning against violence during these protests. FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino addressed recent attacks on Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents, who were pelted with rocks by demonstrators in Los Angeles. He appealed for the public’s help in identifying the suspects, warning it was “only a matter of time” before they are caught. FBI Director Kash Patel added, “Hit a cop, you’re going to jail… it doesn’t matter who you are or what movement you support.” One suspect, Elpidio Reyna, is now wanted for allegedly throwing rocks and explosives at federal officers. A \$50,000 reward has been offered for information leading to his arrest. Additionally, U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli announced federal charges against a man caught on video distributing riot gear during the violent unrest on June 9.
