President Donald Trump sharply criticized Representative Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) on social media, calling him a “LOSER” after Massie condemned the president’s bombing of Iran’s nuclear facilities. Massie posted on X that Trump’s actions were “not constitutional” and argued that when two countries are engaged in daily bombings and a third country joins in, it constitutes an act of war. He expressed amazement at how some neoconservatives in Washington were downplaying the situation to justify military action without proper congressional approval. Massie also challenged congressional leadership, responding to Speaker Mike Johnson’s defense of Trump’s strike by questioning why Congress was not called back from vacation to vote on such a serious military action. His comments quickly drew Trump’s ire. On Sunday, Trump dismissed Massie as “not MAGA” and claimed that the MAGA movement neither knows nor respects him. Trump labeled Massie a “simple-minded grandstander” who votes “NO” on nearly everything and accused him of favoring Iran’s nuclear ambitions while ignoring threats against America.
Reaffirming his justification for the airstrikes, Trump reminded followers that Iran has “killed and maimed” thousands of Americans and recalled the 1979 seizure of the U.S. Embassy in Tehran. He praised the military operation as a “spectacular success” that removed Iran’s nuclear capability. Trump concluded by endorsing a strong primary challenger against Massie, promising to campaign actively in Kentucky to replace him with a more loyal MAGA supporter.
